Sabotaged Alaskan Courage Volume 5 Dani Pettrey 9780764211966 Books

Sabotaged by Dani Pettrey is book five in a series of Alaskan courage fictional stories. This book involves two main characters, Kirra and Reef. The relationship between these two characters is explored through a variety of stressful and everyday situations.

This is Christian fiction but it's not overly preachy or even too obvious that it's Christian in nature. This would be a fun book to lose yourself in on a lazy summer day as you imagine being in the cold north. It would also make a good read for a cold winter day when you just don't want to get off the couch. Grab a mug of hot chocolate, a warm blanket, get your cat on your lap and you'll be all set with this book to read.

Sabotaged Alaskan Courage Volume 5 Dani Pettrey 9780764211966 Books Reviews

So. After 5 books. That I could NOT put down, I finished the entire series in under 9 days. The ending tied up literally everything you pondered during the other ends of the previous books. Now I will say this, each storyline is the main plot. But! Each couple are intertwined nicely through out each book.

The McKenna family are a tribe. A Tribe that never lets Ken another down.

It was a tad heavy on the talking to Christ however, it’s who the Mckennas end up being. At first they were not that strong in faith. Crazy to see how they evolved during the few years

Amazing family, great character development, and in-depth plot lines. Hard to guess sub-endings
Ok, I admit it, I'm in denial. This cannot be the end of the McKenna family saga. I have, over the course of five books, come to love this family and I am not ready to give them up. With each book, Dani Pettrey has continued to weave the powerful story of one family, the McKennas. Sabotaged book Five is The youngest male in the family, Reef's, story. Up to now we haven't learned much about him, other than the fact that he is a free spirit. Now he is home and is showing a very different Reef.
Kirra, a friend of the McKenna family, has always sparred with Reef. He is to footloose for her taste. But Kirra has a secret of her own, and she needs someone she can count on. Why would G-d send Reef?

I have found myself sitting on the edge of my chair, cheering Reef and Kira along. I have to admit that the characters in the McKenna series have come to feel like friends, someone I would love to sit down with and share a cup of coffee. Unfortunately trouble always finds the McKennas..so time to just sit and relax would probably be few and far between.

I love the way everyone in the book comes to know Jesus and the way their faith grows. I am sure I will find myself re-reading these books just to visit with old friends.

I was given this book by the author for reviewing purposes, but the thoughts are entirely my own.
This fifth and final installment in the Alaskan Courage Series focuses on the youngest male in the McKenna family, Reef. Reef and his childhood nemesis, Kirra Jacobs, have been paired together as sweepers for the Iditarod Sled Race. Sweepers follow behind the last place entrants making sure everyone arrives at checkpoints along the route before workers/volunteers move on to the next stop. Reef has always liked to tease Kirra, beginning when they were both in kindergarten. Now that they are both adults, Reef begins to see a new side to Kirra besides the bossy girl he grew up with. As the race progresses, Kirra’s uncle fails to check in at one of the stop-off points of the race. Kirra and Reef search for him, find him, but he refuses to return with them, telling them his only daughter has been kidnapped and he must perform a job to gain her release. He tells Kirra and Reef to find his daughter or many people will be hurt. What follows is a dangerous race between Kirra and Reef, Kirra’s uncle and unknown enemies as each party tries to reach their goal.
Kirra and Reef spend a great deal of time together tracking down clues to try and find Kirra’s cousin. They begin to see that there is much more to the other person than they originally thought. Reef has turned his life around now and longs to be the man God wants him to be. He really hopes Kirra can see that he has changed for the best. Kirra longs to stop being afraid and empty feeling inside. She has prayed to God for help, but can’t seem to find wholeness again. Can Reef be the person God has placed in her life to help fill the void?
This is a wonderful conclusion to a great series. The book was entertaining, exciting and depicted a wonderful God-centered romance. Reef has come such a long way in the series and turned out to be a man on fire for God! I just loved the way the family openly loved and supported one another in the good times and the bad times. I sure hope this author continues to write more stories as I will readily read them!
This is the final installment in the Alaskan Courage series, and with the exception of the first book, Submerged which was my favorite, it was on par with the rest of the series. It was a little harder to follow this particular book, the main characters kept bouncing around Alaska, and unless you are familiar with the area, it quickly became difficult to follow where they were. The premise was a little far fetched, but the author did a great job providing back ground which made it a little more realistic. These particular characters seemed a little oddly matched, but their story was a nice reminder that we don't have to be ruled by our past in order to move on in our future. It was suspenseful, I didn't know who the bad guy was going to be, and I had already grown attached to the McKenna family so all in all it was an enjoyable read. I would read it again )
